The Devil Wears Prada [REVIEW]
I’m
sorry for being the last one to watch it, but for my pile of movies on my list,
this one got lucky to have my attention. And today I am going to share my
opinions about the said movie.
The Movie “The Devil
Wears Prada” is about a teenage girl who just finished college and pursue her
dream of being a good journalist, but in some unexpected journey she ended up
in a Fashion Magazine where her field doesn't meet any of its terms.
Being
a second assistant isn't that easy job and as she plays her
role as being the second assistant, she’s one
kick ass assistant because she don’t just do her job, but she also gripping those dreams of her on
becoming a good journalist once she got a good background on the Fashion
Magazine that she got into.
As
Days, Weeks, & Months passes by she learn how to blend into the society
that she’s with and having that as a new thing makes her more attractive to her
boss. Being focused and totally passionate about her job makes an excellent
result in her daily life of work which makes her drown in another side as being
a daughter, a friend and girlfriend. People cannot do multi-task. It will only bring you
to your own social
funeral but doing it on the right way can be a good risk and maybe, possibly a
good sign of being in a very good process, it only means that you are
developing yourself upward to a better you.
In the story,
there are two main casts. Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, the iron lady of Elias-Clarke Publication
and Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs. These two tough ladies brought up a one
outstanding movie. They give justices to their roles and make the statement
clear about who are their character suppose to be.
I love the way how
Meryl Streep act. As she always does, doing an outstanding yet brilliant
character is not surprising to her as she always brings out
the best of her. In this movie, she clearly makes it happen again,
but in this movie she is not just another tough evil board of chairman, she is
a headache but she behaves like an asshole. Being an asshole and behaving like
an asshole has a very big difference. She behaves like
one because once she gets what she wants, she never asks for more. And in the
smallest way…. She knows how to appreciate. Meryl Streep
has a giant ego here, but that giant ego wasn't that bad at all. She just has
to protect what she has to protect and get what she has to get. She does what
she wants and
makes it happen. She never
thinks that it’s bad to stand up for what she think is right and it takes a
strong woman to speak herself to anyone.
As she started her
career, Anne Hathaway never changes. She just got better and better movie after
movie. And this one over here is a very good example of a job well done. Anne’s
role is not that easy. As we put in the realism, being an assistant isn't easy.
You have to be a quality person with a personality like, long patience,
pleasing to others, know how to communicate and it doesn't end like
that because being an assistant, you also have to be, Intelligent, wise and
time saver.
You have to manage everything because it’s not
your only schedule that you were making. You are also making your
boss’s schedule at the same time and those schedules must have met each other.
She sacrifices most of her time. She even let her boyfriend’s birthday party
wait for so many hours that ended up into another shocking thing because she
never makes it. She just greets her boyfriend in their apartment after she goes into
a fashion show all night.
In
the end of the story, she realized that even you focus on your job too much,
even you sacrifice many things, and it will always have to depending on
you, of what decision you would make. Loving the job you were can maybe turn as
a nightmare to you one day.
This
movie taught us that being too much focus, doing too much work and spending a
lot of time to your work is not that good because spending too much time
on work makes you give up of some important things in your life. Having a
good career and making a good career have a very big difference, and Anne makes
her own good career and it seems to choke her to death that she has to let it
go so that good things could open doors for her.
I hope this makes
sense to all of you, and I hope you to read more of my “Margaux’s Moviecation” segment here in my new blog.
I will catch you all
later in my next post,
See yah!
